James appeared to take a shot at President Donald Trump and his "Make America Great Again" slogan on Twitter on Saturday evening when expressing his sadness over the events that transpired earlier in the day.

Earlier this year, James publicly criticized Trump's plan for an immigration ban from a group of Muslim-majority countries.

At the 2016 ESPY Awards, James, along with fellow NBAers Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul, called for athletes to renounce violence in the country, and use their platforms to help influence change.
