High school football player dies after hit in head by log during drill
A football player at Sachem High School East in Farmingville, N.Y., was killed Thursday morning after being struck in the head by a log during a training drill.
Joshua Mileto, 16, was one of five players carrying a log over his head at an offseason football camp when it fell and hit him, according to a report by Newsday. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said there were six or seven adults, including coaches and trainers, present at the workout. The log-carrying drill is similar to that used by Navy SEALS to build teamwork during training sessions.
"I've never seen that drill in an athletic setting," Bob O'Malley, president of the New York State Athletic Trainers Association, told Newsday.
A GoFundMePage has been set up for donations to Mileto's family.
