The Seattle Seahawks did not pass on signing Colin Kaepernick because they were worried about his commitment to the game, according to general manager John Schneider.

Schneider told NFL Network on Monday that Kaepernick "is committed to football, there's no question about it."

The Seahawks had considered signing Kaepernick this offseason, but opted for Austin Davis as a backup quarterback instead.

John Lynch, the GM of Kaepernick's former team, advised the quarterback in early July to publicly confirm football was his top priority. Kaepernick did not take Lynch's advice, but also has made no comment to suggest football isn't his main focus.
