Melo 'at peace,' but hasn't met with Knicks since front-office shuffle

It's been an arduous year - "an emotional roller coaster" of nearly constant trade rumors - but Carmelo Anthony has made peace with whatever happens next, the 10-time All-Star told ESPN's Ian Begley.

That being said, he still hasn't met with the New York Knicks' front office this offseason, despite a significant restructuring in mid-July.

Given the high-scoring forward's tumultuous relationship with former Knicks president Phil Jackson, it's no shock that Anthony wasn't clamoring for a face-to-face meeting with the team's brass. After the Knicks' season was finally put to rest in April, Anthony voiced his distrust of the top executive and Hall of Fame coach.

But Jackson and the Knicks agreed to part ways in late June, opening the door for a fresh start between player and team. On July 14, Scott Perry was officially announced as the new general manager after a short but encouraging tenure as vice president of the Sacramento Kings, but in the two weeks since, he's evidently not been able to sit down with Anthony.

Even with Perry taking the reins, Anthony's name has dominated potential trade rumors, though the no-trade clause put in Anthony's contract by Jackson effectively gives the 33-year-old veto power over any deal that isn't to his liking.

At this time, the Houston Rockets remain the only destination that Anthony would reportedly waive his no-trade clause to join.

The 2017-18 season is just two-and-a-half months away, but Anthony seems to be content with staying patient and waiting for his future to unveil itself in due time.
