Gareon Conley rape case forwarded to grand jury
Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports
Findings from the investigation into rape accusations leveled at Oakland Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley have been sent to a grand jury to determine whether charges will be filed, Cleveland police confirmed to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero on Monday.
Ed Gallek of FOX8 News reported Friday that if Conley's case did go to a grand jury, a decision could come "in days."
The rookie is accused of raping a woman in a Cleveland hotel on April 9. He has vehemently denied the allegations.
Conley - who signed his rookie deal Friday - can't be disciplined by the NFL, regardless of the investigation's outcome, as the incident occurred prior to the draft.
