Mitch Haniger left Saturday's game against the New York Mets after taking a 95-mph Jacob deGrom fastball to the face in the second inning.

The Seattle Mariners told reporters that Haniger was fully alert following the hit-by-pitch and was taken to the hospital for a mouth contusion.

Haniger was replaced by pinch-runner Guillermo Heredia, who took over left field while Ben Gamel shifted from left to right field.
