The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to announce an extension with head coach Mike Tomlin, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The Steelers have been known to announce such signings early in training camp. Their last extension with Tomlin came in July 2015.

Tomlin, 45, has coached the Steelers for the past 10 years, in which time he has a 103-57 regular-season record and one Super Bowl title. The worst the team has fared under his watch is 8-8. They have produced three consecutive seasons of 10 wins or more and are coming off an appearance in the AFC title game.

The Steelers have been the embodiment of continuity at the head-coaching position. They have had but three coaches since 1969. Chuck Noll held the position for 23 years before giving way to Bill Cowher, who stayed in Pittsburgh for 15 years.
