Bridgewater officially starts camp on PUP list

Brad Rempel / USA TODAY Sports

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was placed on the physically unable to perform list to open training camp, the team announced Wednesday.

It's a procedural move, but also another in a long line of notable developments as Bridgewater works his way back from the significant knee injury suffered last summer.

The former first-round pick remains without a timetable to return, so it's no surprise that he's sidelined to open camp.

A PUP list designation isn't permanent, though, as Bridgewater can be activated in the event he continues to make progress and is cleared for practice.

The latest apparent update on the 24-year-old's recovery came earlier this month, when he posted pictures of himself working out without a brace.

Minnesota also announced that Bridgewater will be available to meet with reporters Thursday.
