ESPN announced its new studio teams for the 2017 college football season with Jesse Palmer's move from the broadcast booth to the studio highlighting the news.

The former Florida quarterback, and 2004 subject of the fifth season of "The Bachelor," has starred in the color commentator role for almost a decade, calling games on both the SEC Network and ESPN. He takes over for Danny Kanell who was laid off this spring. Palmer, who will partner with Adnan Virk and Joey Galloway in the role, has experience in the studio after serving on ABC's panel in the past.

The Saturday ABC show will now be manned by Kevin Negandhi, Booger McFarland and Mack Brown, after Mark May was axed by ESPN in the spring. Negandhi takes over for Stan Verrett who filled in for the 2016 campaign after John Saunders' death. McFarland joins the team from various roles at both ESPN and the SEC Network.

Chip Kelly's role with the network was also announced in the release, as the former Oregon coach will serve as an analyst for ESPN2's studio coverage on Saturday. Kelly will join former star linebacker Jonathan Vilma and Chris Cotter on the desk, while also appearing on Sportscenter as well.
