Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett will host a benefit and rally for a Seattle woman who was fatally shot by police in June, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.
Charleena Lyles, a 30-year-old mother of four with mental-health issues, called police to report an attempted burglary. She was shot dead by two officers who reported she brandished a knife.
A Facebook event has Bennett and his wife, Pele, as the hosts of a rally and benefit for Lyles scheduled to take place July 29 at Judkins Park in Seattle.
