Report: Texans' Fuller out 2-3 months after breaking collarbone at practice

Houston Texans wide receiver Will Fuller broke his collarbone at practice Wednesday, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Sarah Barshop.

Schefter and Barshop say Fuller will be out indefinitely, while John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports the pass-catcher will undergo surgery and miss two-to-three months.

If Fuller returns at the early end of that timeline, he could play in Week 4 or 5.

The 2016 first-round pick was expected to take another leap in development and ease the pressure off No. 1 receiver DeAndre Hopkins, so losing him could severely impact the Texans' passing game - especially with either rookie Deshaun Watson or journeyman Tom Savage under center.

Fuller lit it up during the first two contests of his professional career, using his game-breaking speed to produce back-to-back 100-yard games.

The 23-year-old's production never hit those heights again for the rest of the season, but with the Texans likely set to upgrade their quarterback play regardless of who wins the starting job, Fuller was expected to be one of the main benefactors of the switch from Brock Osweiler.

If Fuller is forced to miss regular-season time, receivers Braxton Miller and Jaelen Strong will likely see their roles expanded.
