The Chicago Bears signed their first-round draft pick, quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, to his rookie contract on Wednesday. The signing came on the team's first day of rookie training camp.

On draft day, the Bears traded up from No. 3 to select Trubisky with the No. 2 pick. While Mike Glennon is expected to be the starter for 2017, Trubisky will be counted on to be the franchise's signal-caller of the future.

Trubisky didn't ascend to a starting role until his junior year in college, however, therefore he only has 13 career starts under his belt. In his limited time at the helm, he led North Carolina to an 8-5 record and an appearance in the Sun Bowl.
