Report: Titans' Cowden, Bills' Schoen, in running for Panthers' GM job

Tennessee Titans director of player personnel Ryan Cowden, Buffalo Bills assistant general manager Joe Schoen, and Panthers director of college scouting Jeff Morrow are all contenders for Carolina's vacant general manager position following the surprise firing of Dave Gettleman on Monday, a league source told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.

"They love these three guys," the source told Florio.

The source added that Brandon Beane - the Panthers' former assistant GM who left to take the top job with the Buffalo Bills in May - would've been the odds-on favorite for the job, but his departure has caused Carolina to look elsewhere.

The Panthers fired Gettleman after four successful seasons in charge, and will now have to move quickly to secure one of their top targets before the start of training camp later this month.
