Roger Federer can only pray he doesn't run into the same Marin Cilic that pummeled him at the 2014 US Open when they meet in the Wimbledon final.

Federer holds a 6-1 lifetime record versus the Croat, but the one loss was a 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 demolition that left a lasting impression on Federer, who'll go for his 19th career Grand Slam title on Sunday.

"He crushed me at the US Open a few years back where he played lights out," Federer said following his semifinal victory over Tomas Berdych. "I hope he's not gonna play that good, but I'm really looking forward to playing against him, of course."

The two have met on the court just once since that 2014 encounter - in the Wimbledon quarterfinals last year when Federer pulled off a stunning five-set victory after dropping the first two frames.
