Jay Cutler's retirement saddened many fans and players of rival NFC North teams. None more so than Clay Matthews, it appears.

Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show recently, the Green Bay Packers linebacker said he'll miss his frequent on-field interactions with the former Chicago Bears quarterback.

"I always enjoyed playing against Jay," Matthews said. "Obviously, he rubbed some fans the wrong way. I know people get on him about his nonchalant attitude, but I always enjoyed playing against him.

"I'm glad I got a lot of sacks against him. I'll miss that the most. But hopefully the next in line in Chicago will be as equally willing to help me pad my stats."

The Packers and Bears play twice a year each season, allowing Matthews, an eight-year veteran, to corral Cutler 8.5 times over the course of his career.

In fact, Cutler is the quarterback Matthews has sacked the most, as Eisen revealed to the pass-rusher.
