Overeem calls out Miocic: I can't wait to show you my new hands

For Alistair Overeem, 2017 has been the year of loose ends.

"The Reem" took his rematch with Mark Hunt in March before edging Fabricio Werdum in a trilogy bout at UFC 213 last week, a victory that gave him the gall to call out reigning heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic on Tuesday.

Overeem fell to Miocic by first-round knockout at UFC 203 last September, and while he readily accepted the defeat, he pointedly reminded the champ their fight nearly went the other way. Overeem promised Miocic he wouldn't be facing the same fighter he beat into oblivion if they were to run it back.

With former champ Cain Velasquez still recovering from back surgery and Junior dos Santos set to face the surging Francis Ngannou at UFC 215 in September, Overeem may very well find himself the beneficiary of a convoluted title picture and share the Octagon with Miocic again before the year is out.
