Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has yet to commit to a future presidential run, but someone has decided to launch a campaign committee on his behalf anyway.

As noted by Public Integrity's Dave Levinthal, Run The Rock 2020 was officially registered with the Federal Election Commission on Sunday:

The committee was registered by Kenton Tilford of Wheeling, W.Va., who spoke to James Wilkinson of the Daily Mail.

"While there has been significant discussion of the possibility of The Rock running for President, there is currently no avenue for supporters to channel their energies and get Mr. Johnson to notice the groundswell of support he has in the grassroots," Tilford said.

"By starting Run The Rock 2020, I hope to harness that energy and help persuade Mr. Johnson that America needs his leadership now."
