Dallas Cowboys linebacker Damien Wilson was arrested Tuesday night and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Frisco police confirmed to Drew Davidson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The Cowboys are aware of Wilson's situation and are gathering information, and the NFL is "looking into the matter to understand the facts," league spokesman Brian McCarthy said in an email to Davidson.

The second-year pro's arrest took place at Toyota Stadium, and he has since been released from custody on a $20,000 bond. Frisco police have yet to reveal what kind of weapon was allegedly used.

Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon is punishable by up to 20 years in prison and carries a $10,000 fine, notes Davidson.

Wilson, a 2015 fourth-round selection by the Cowboys, appeared in all 16 games last season, starting six.
