The agent for Zach Orr suggested Friday morning the linebacker is one step closer to an NFL return, telling ESPN's Josina Anderson that "everything looks great" on the physical he took with the Detroit Lions the previous evening.

Orr - who spent the first three seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens and was a second-team All-Pro last season - walked away from football in January due to a spinal condition. He revealed Wednesday that doctors cleared him to return to the gridiron, and reassured he carries no extra risk of suffering a long-term injury despite his previous prognosis.

Orr is scheduled to meet with at least two teams over the next two days - first the Indianapolis Colts, then the New York Jets - but plans to keep in contact with the Lions, he later told Alex Marvez of SiriusXM NFL Radio.

The 25-year-old was slated to be a restricted free agent this offseason, but became unrestricted when the Ravens - thinking he'd never play again - chose not to place a tender on him. Orr never officially filed retirement papers with the NFL. He notched 132 tackles and three interceptions last year.
