Report: Several teams interested in trading up to draft Josh Jackson
There is a "tremendous appetite" around the NBA to trade into the top four of Thursday's draft to select Josh Jackson, league executives told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Earlier Thursday, a report indicated the San Antonio Spurs were looking to trade into a lottery spot and were dangling LaMarcus Aldridge. Jackson would be an ideal fit on the Spurs and several other teams, but it's expected he will be gone by the fourth pick.
Pick | Current team | Latest |
---|---|---|
1 | 76ers | Most signs point to Markelle Fultz |
2 | Lakers | Most signs point to Lonzo Ball |
3 | Celtics | Did not work out Josh Jackson, did work out Jayson Tatum |
4 | Suns | Believed to be interested in Jackson and Ball |
The Celtics remain the wild card in the scenario, given their wealth of draft assets and the belief they could trade picks for an existing NBA talent. They did not work out Jackson, though the player said Wednesday that boiled down to timing. Jackson is widely considered the third-best prospect in the draft, and the top non-guard.
The draft goes at 7 p.m. ET at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
