Dortmund's Dembele voted Bundesliga Rookie of the Season

Ousmane Dembele was honoured Wednesday with the Bundesliga's Rookie of the Season award following his superb debut campaign in Germany.

The Borussia Dortmund star edged out four others to claim the award after fans voted him as the Bundesliga's top young prospect.

Nabil Bentaleb of Schalke, Riechedly Bazoer of Wolfsburg, Caglar Soyuncu of Freiburg, and Jordan Torunarigha of Hertha Berlin rounded out the finalists.

After emerging as a promising young talent during his time with Stade Rennes, Dembele made a seamless transition to life in Germany's top flight, continuing his evolution into one of football's most exciting talents with his blinding speed up the wing and his impeccable vision.

Demebele, 20, completed his first Bundesliga campaign with six goals and 12 assists during 32 appearances.

Along with the annual award, Dembele picked up a Rookie of the Month award following his impressive performances in February.
