Report: Sixers, Celtics in serious discussions over No. 1 pick
The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers are in serious talks about a trade involving the No. 1 overall pick, sources told Marc Stein and Zach Lowe of ESPN.
Philadelphia is awaiting medical information on Markelle Fultz before proceeding, but the two sides are indeed deep in trade talks, confirms Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, citing sources.
Wojnarowski adds that the 76ers would surrender the No. 3 pick in this year's draft in addition to a package that includes a future first-round selection from Philadelphia.
The Sixers would presumably use the No. 1 pick on Fultz to fill their void at point guard. Meanwhile, the Celtics already have Isaiah Thomas on the roster and could grab more assets by trading down if they feel Fultz wouldn't fit.
