Report: Mayweather files for 5 trademarks for phrase '50-0'

Kelley L Cox / USA TODAY Sports

Floyd Mayweather is hoping "50" proves to be the magic number in more ways than one.

The boxer has filed for five trademarks of "50-0" ahead of his newly confirmed meeting with Conor McGregor - set for Aug. 26 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas - ESPN's Darren Rovell reports.

Mayweather takes a perfect professional record of 49-0 into his date with "The Notorious" - hence the targeted trademark - and is expected to comfortably pocket nine figures for the blockbuster bout.

The four-division champion's pursuit of the trademark is of little surprise, given he's filed for more than 300 of them over the last six-plus years.
