New Houston Texan Deshaun Watson has the most powerful man in America in his corner.

Clemson celebrated its national championship at the White House on Monday and President Donald Trump had plenty of praise for the quarterback that led the Tigers to that title.

"He's going to be a great NFL player," Trump said of Watson, according to Chase Goodbread of NFL.com.

"Offensive MVP, quarterback Deshaun Watson, took some very, very hard hits (in the title game against Alabama). But he never rattled. He's great under pressure," Trump said. "I've seen that, I've heard that. He always got right back up. And he fought, and he fought, and he kept winning. Now he'll bring that toughness together to the Houston Texans."

The Texans traded up to the 12th pick in the draft to select Watson to be the quarterback of their future. So they obviously see in Watson exactly what Trump sees.
