Farrell to speak to Price after heated exchange with reporter

The short tenure of David Price has been an eventful one, as the Boston Red Sox starting pitcher told the media that he will only be available on days he pitches now, and skipper John Farrell says he'll speak with him in the coming days.

Farrell told Christopher Smith of Mass Live that, while he hadn't spoken to Price yet, so as not to interfere with his starting day routine, that the two would speak soon.

Following Wednesday night's game against the New York Yankees, Price pulled a member of the Boston media aside to loudly voice his displeasure.

"There will be follow-up, yeah," Farrell said, regarding his star pitcher. "We would like all of our players to deal with you all, the media, with respect. And I cannot say he was not disrespectful. Granted, there was emotional conversation that took place last night. So that will be talked with, with him."

Price is set to face off against the Yankees in the rubber-match of a three-game series Thursday evening. The 31-year-old has made two starts in the 2017 season, posting a 3.00 ERA and 0.67 WHIP over 12 innings.
