Mara: We want Beckham 'to be a Giant for the rest of his career'

The New York Giants have no interest in letting superstar receiver Odell Beckham Jr. out of their grasp.

Amid a reported holdout by the wideout during voluntary OTAs, Giants CEO John Mara told Giants fans where the team stands.

"Obviously we want him to be a Giant for the rest of his career," Mara said Tuesday at a Giants town hall, according to Art Stapleton of The Record.

Beckham is currently playing on his rookie contract and the team exercised a fifth-year option that will pay him $8.4 million in 2018. Mara said the franchise is working on a long-term deal with its top receiver.

Beckham plans to attend the team's mandatory minicamp next week, a league source told Stapleton.

Beckham finished 2016 third in the league in receiving yards with 1,367 and placed fifth in touchdown receptions with 10.
