Lane Kiffin: Conference USA's coaches are much friendlier than SEC's

Most coaches would be disappointed to drop down to Conference USA from the SEC, but Lane Kiffin has found a silver lining.

The new Florida Atlantic head coach said he enjoyed the recent Conference USA meetings, where he found his peers much more sociable.

"League meetings ... were a lot more friendly this last week," Kiffin said Monday at his satellite camp, according to Andrew Astleford of SEC Country. "I did say that to (agent) Jimmy Sexton. (He said,) ‘How was league meetings?’ And I said, ‘This is not like the SEC.’ Coaches actually sat close to each other. The SEC room was like three times bigger, because everybody had to be 10 feet away from each other."

Kiffin knows SEC competition well, having spent 2009 as Tennessee's head coach and the past three seasons as an assistant with Alabama.

He likely hopes to have a friendlier relationship with his fellow coaches on the sideline, too.
