5-star SF Brian Bowen officially commits to Louisville
Brian Bowen officially committed to Louisville on Saturday afternoon, just days after news broke that he began classes at the school Thursday.
The five-star small forward was the top remaining player in the country for the class of 2018, ranked by ESPN as the 13th-best prospect overall.
The 6-foot-7, 195-pounder was being courted by a number of top programs, including Michigan State, Arizona, Texas, and UCLA, before deciding on Louisville.
The news that he had already begun classes at the Louisville campus was somewhat surprising, as the Cardinals weren't one of the top schools associated with Bowen during his recruitment. Rick Pitino and the staff made a late push for the talented forward and did enough to convince him to join the ACC program.
His decision to join Louisville gives the program one of the top recruiting classes in the country, as Pitino has already signed five-star power forward Malik Williams and highly regarded four-star talents Darius Perry and Jordan Nwora.
