Watch: NYPD officer makes impressive shot from outside court

An officer with the New York City Police Department's 50th precinct wowed a group of kids with his basketball skills Friday, making a seemingly difficult shot from outside a Bronx court.

At one point in the video, a spectator can be heard trying to make a bet with Officer James, telling him, "if you miss, you give me a dollar." James declined.

"I enjoy interacting with the people in the community," James, a five-year veteran of the NYPD, said in a statement. "It's not a cliche - I really want to make a difference and inspire people."
