Irving on twisted ankle: 'My body will probably hate me' when adrenaline wears off

Kyrie Irving is on top of the world after guiding the Cleveland Cavaliers to a victory in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals Tuesday night on their home floor.

As far as how he'll feel Wednesday and beyond, that remains to be seen. The All-Star guard dodged quite the bullet late in the third quarter when he rolled his left ankle on the foot of Terry Rozier, yet somehow managed to stay on the floor and push through any pain.

"I've twisted my ankle so many times, that plays like that ... you have two choices: Sit there and kinda wallow in the sorrow of you actually twisting your ankle, or capture the moment," Irving said in his postgame press conference. "My adrenaline is still going at this point. So I'm pretty sure when I get home, my body will probably hate me.

"It's the magnitude of the moment and what's at stake. I wasn't coming out for any margin. I knew how much we needed this game, how much my teammates needed me, and the importance of me leading these guys, as well as 'Bron."

Irving scored 13 more points on 5-of-6 shooting after that scare, finishing with a postseason career-high 42 points in 41 minutes of action as the Cavaliers came from behind to knock off the Boston Celtics, 112-99.

Game 5 goes down Thursday at the TD Garden, which doesn't leave Irving much time for any potential recovery should his ankle become an issue.
