Chad Pinder mercilessly crushed a Noe Ramirez offering 460 feet in the fifth inning of Saturday's game between the Oakland Athletics and Boston Red Sox.
He hit the ball into the plaza level in center field, above the outfield suites. The San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser said only Mark McGwire and Larry Walker before Pinder have reached the plaza level. The A's later clarified that Jarrett Parker also did so.
Either way, Ramirez immediately had pangs of regret as the ball traveled into oblivion. It was the third of four home runs on the day for the A's, who went on to win 8-3.
