LeBron James has won the NBA's Most Valuable Player award on four separate occasions (2009, 2010, 2012, and 2013), so losing out on the honor in 2016-17 doesn't bother him in the slightest bit.

Telling reporters following Cleveland's 130-86 victory in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals Friday that he didn't know he wasn't nominated prior to tip-off, James made it abundantly clear that the only MVP he wants to be is the one that guides the Cavaliers to another championship.

"My only job is to try and be the MVP for this team every night," James said in his postgame press conference. "Put my teammates, put our franchise in a position to be successful, and ultimately compete for a championship.

"For me, I know what I bring to the table. This league knows what I bring to the table. It's for you guys (media) to write about. It's not for me to be concerned about."

James played 32 minutes in Game 2, scoring 30 points on 12-of-18 shooting and 4-of-6 from deep, grabbing four rebounds, dishing out seven assists, and blocking three shots. His four steals also moved him past Michael Jordan for second on the all-time playoff list.
