Should the Boston Celtics choose Markelle Fultz with the No. 1 pick in this year's draft, they likely won't need to worry about any chemistry issues between him and fellow guard Isaiah Thomas.

Thomas revealed Thursday that Fultz has already reached out to inquire about the Celtics' culture, and says he would have no problem sharing a backcourt with the 6-foot-4 guard.

"He asks questions; I answer them," Thomas told ESPN's Chris Forsberg. "He's a good friend of mine. If it happens, we'll figure out how to play together. If not, we'll go from there."

"He's excited," Thomas added. "I mean, he obviously doesn't know where he's going, but ... he's excited about the opportunity."

Fultz went on record earlier this week saying there's little doubt he and Thomas could coexist, believing the two could form one of the most formidable backcourts in the Association.

"Me and Isaiah Thomas would be a great backcourt. I think the opportunity that would be there would be amazing," Fultz said. "For him to play off the ball, where I think he's better at it, or him to play on ball and I can play off the ball, I think the chemistry would be amazing."

The NBA draft will take place on June 22 at Barclays Center.
