Mayweather opens as overwhelming favorite for bout vs. McGregor

With the confirmation of a superfight between boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and UFC star Conor McGregor comes the betting odds on the event, and Mayweather is a decided favorite.

The decorated champion with a perfect 49-0 record has opened as a -1100 favorite on the money line to defeat the mixed martial artist, according to the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook. Mayweather's implied win probability is a staggering 91.6 percent.

Bets are being limited to a maximum of $2,000 for the time being, Sherman adds.

Earlier Wednesday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission approved a request from Mayweather Promotions to hold a boxing event in Las Vegas on Aug. 26.
