No. 9 is back.
Paul Kariya made a rare on-camera appearance Thursday in a promotional video for the Anaheim Ducks, helping local resident Kai Quinonez cross off Kariya's old jersey number on the team's playoff win countdown.
He attended Teemu Selanne's final regular-season game in 2014, but has largely laid low for years, contributing to the Ducks' charitable efforts but not representing the team in public since being forced to retire due to multiple concussions in 2010.
Kariya ranks third on the Ducks' all-time goals and assists lists, and it's great to see one of the franchise's first stars don the team's colors again.
