LaVar Ball: Lonzo 'don't need no advice from Kobe Bryant'

Former Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant seems willing to offer his guidance to anyone who wants it, with several of the NBA's elite already reaching out to The Black Mamba for advice.

LaVar Ball, the outspoken father and business manager of UCLA standout and soon-to-be lottery pick Lonzo Ball, doesn't feel his son needs to give Bryant a call anytime soon for some words of wisdom.

"I don't need no advice from Kobe Bryant," LaVar said Thursday on "Mornings with Keyshawn Johnson" on ESPN Radio 710 LA, via ESPN's Jorge Sedano. "I don't need advice from Kobe Bryant. 'Zo's got to play his game.

"If they're at practice and (Kobe) sees something, and Lonzo listens to him or whatever, he's good. ... But it's just not, 'OK, I'm talking to Kobe, so now I'm going to be good.' If Kobe sees something that 'Zo is doing, then go from there. But I'm not trying to pattern after nobody."

Lonzo - who just released his new (expensive) signature shoe under the family's Big Baller Brand - has been on the record saying how it would be a "blessing" should the Lakers draft him.
