Colorado regents delaying vote on extension for Mike MacIntyre
Mike MacIntyre's contract extension is on hold.
Colorado regents are delaying a vote on approving a new deal for MacIntyre until after an investigation into how the program handled an allegation of domestic violence concludes, according to Sarah Kuta of the Daily Camera.
"The university is going to engage in some outside consultation on this situation and so we really need to see that investigation run its course before we take any further action on MacIntyre's contract," Jack Kroll, one of the regents, told Kuta.
The investigation relates to how MacIntyre handled a complaint of abuse by the girlfriend of former assistant coach Joe Tumpkin. MacIntyre said he allowed Tumpkin to call defensive plays in the Buffaloes' bowl game after hearing the allegations because their was no official police or legal complaint.
MacIntyre and the school had agreed on a three-year extension in January pending regent approval.
