Fatima Al Ali's dream week continues.
The United Arab Emirates' national women's hockey team member conducted the ceremonial faceoff Thursday night before the Washington Capitals played the Detroit Red Wings at Verizon Center in D.C.
She took a selfie with captains Alex Ovechkin and Henrik Zetterberg before dropping the puck.
Al Ali was invited to Washington by the Capitals as part of "Hockey is for Everyone" Month, and practiced with the club on Wednesday.
"Her visit to the United States is an example of how something as simple as a game can transcend political and geographic boundaries, and bring us all together on an equal playing surface," Capitals PA announcer Wes Johnson said during her introduction.
Couldn't have said it any better.
