"It sucks finishing with two bogeys," Mickelson said. "I got off to a slow start and got it turned to 1-under, which was good and had it going there for a while on the front. Unfortunately, I bogeyed a couple coming in, but I'm playing well and I'm looking towards the weekend."
When asked about trying to muscle a driver from a difficult lie in the rough at the eighth, Mickelson said the safe shot isn't in his DNA.
"The only play was to pitch out, but that's not really what I like to do."
