The Dallas Cowboys may have brought a troubled project into their organization, but that doesn't mean they don't love him.

While second-year defensive end Randy Gregory has been suspended multiple times in his short career, team owner Jerry Jones doesn't sound ready to cut the cord.

"As long as Randy Gregory is as conscientious, but I'm not going to get into what is the known about dependence and substance relative to well-being, people having relapses," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan, according to CBS' Sean Wagner-McGough. "It's a fact of life. He's a young guy. And certainly he's got those challenges. He's our maybe, maybe an ugly baby, but he's our baby."

Gregory, a 2015 second-round pick, failed to register a sack in 12 games as a rookie and has yet to play this season. The 23-year-old has received three suspensions this year for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy: four games in February, another 10 games in September, and finally a year-long ban in November.
