'Check your privilege': Heated exchange highlights WSOP main event
English professional poker player Will Kassouf is a notorious trash talker, and while it can frustrate his opponents, it does make for entertaining television.
During the 2016 World Series of Poker main event, Kassouf was involved in a heated exchange with Canadian Griffin Benger, who - holding pocket aces - had raised him to $5.6 million. Kassouf began baiting Benger, causing him to go off.
"You're just an abusive person, man, it's not funny," Benger said. "It's not a game. You're being abusive. It's called verbal abuse. What you're doing to me is verbal abuse. You're a bully. It's rude. It's mean."
Kassouf responded by calling it "speech play."
"It's not called speech play, it's called being a bad person," Benger replied. "You should really check yourself. Check your privilege."
Kassouf, who was holding pocket kings, eventually went all-in and was eliminated.
