Here are the key news and notes for Tuesday, October 11:
Tony Romo's return to drills not in immediate future
Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) underwent an MRI Monday, but head coach Jason Garrett did not have an update for reporters. Owner Jerry Jones said he expected good news. Garrett said it will be “a little bit further down the road” before Romo can return to team drills.
Fantasy Impact: Romo wasn't expected back before the team's Week 7 bye. Team staff won't acknowledge a brewing quarterback controversy between Romo and rookie Dak Prescott, but Prescott's play has definitely allowed the team to remain extremely patient with the oft-injured veteran. Romo is still worth stashing in two-QB leagues.

Cam Newton showing improvement
Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer reports Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (concussion) could return to team activities soon. Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said Newton participated in some football-specific drills Monday. The team has an off day Tuesday before returning to practice Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact: The Panthers are 1-4 through five weeks, but they'll visit the New Orleans Saints and their horrendous defense in Week 6. Newton will be an obvious must start as long as he is available, as will be any other member of the Panthers' offense. This should be the breakout game everyone has been looking for from the reigning NFC champions.

Upcoming change in Redskins' backfield workload?
Washington Redskins RB Robert Kelley may have earned himself more work moving forward, according to JP Finlay of CSN Mid-Atlantic. "I think you’ll see more of Robert. I think Robert shows that he’s deserving of some carries," said Redskins head coach Jay Gruden. "We like Matt Jones, but I think there’s a good combination there where the both of them can get the ball."
Fantasy Impact: Jones is averaging 4.1 yards per carry with two touchdowns on 73 total attempts. He has caught all eight of his targets. Kelley is averaging just 3.6 yards on a eight attempts, without a single target. Jones is the only one worth owning in any fantasy format. Less work could either improve his performance with more rest, or take away from what little value he has.
