Luck misses practice with shoulder soreness, expects to play vs. Chargers
Andrew Luck sat out the first practice of the week Wednesday with soreness in his throwing shoulder.
Coming off a season in which injury issues limited him to just seven games, any ailment forcing the Indianapolis Colts' star quarterback to miss practice time will be cause for at least some concern.
Luck told reporters that he expects to play in Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers, so it's possible that the absence was merely a way of Indianapolis getting him additional rest where possible.
The three-time Pro Bowler's healthy return to the field this year provides an otherwise thin Colts defense with a reason for optimism on a weekly basis.
Luck was at the top of his game in a 385-yard, four-touchdown performance to open the season against the Detroit Lions before being limited to 197 yards, one score, and one interception in last week's matchup with a top-tier Denver Broncos pass defense.
