Taylor rushed for a team-high 56 yards and a touchdown on nine carries in Thursday's preseason finale against San Diego.
Analysis:
The 2016 sixth-round pick saved his best for last, throwing his hat into the race for one of the last two vacant backup running back spots. Taylor is still the underdog in the competition against Mike Davis and DuJuan Harris given his lack of experience, but Thursday's performance increased his odds at making the 53-man roster. Even if he loses out to the two veterans, he will be a likely candidate to be placed on San Francisco's practice squad.
