GSP open to fighting Tyron Woodley

Tyron Woodley may get his wish.

After defeating Robbie Lawler for the UFC welterweight title at UFC 201 on Saturday, Woodley said he was looking to fight either Georges St-Pierre or Nick Diaz in his next fight.

St-Pierre was contacted by Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com and asked via text message if he'd be interested in fighting Woodley, and whether he even wanted the bout.

"Yes" was St-Pierre's succinct answer to both questions.

St-Pierre announced in June he was preparing for a return to the UFC, though Dana White has dismissed the validity of the former welterweight champion's comeback.

It's believed St-Pierre is holding out on a return to the Octagon until the UFC makes it financially worth his while, something the promotion might not be keen on doing.

The UFC has yet to indicate who Woodley will face in his first title defense, but Stephen Thompson, the division's No. 1 contender, is the obvious candidate.

Woodley, however, has his sights on a big-money fight, and might have just grabbed the attention of one of the biggest draws around.
