Unfortunately for Mexico's supporters who wanted nothing more than to move on from the embarrassment and enjoy a cup of coffee and huevos rancheros, the newspapers on their doorsteps served as a reminder of what transpired the night before, featuring headlines that offered no sympathy to El Tri.
Here's a collection of the front pages and headlines of Mexican newspapers on Sunday:
Diario Record: "Tridiculo"
Mexico made ridiculous, monumental history: A national team without soul or guts was humiliated by a Chilean team that needed little to win by seven. The FMF (Federacion Mexicana de Futbol Asociacion) should do something, as it's the worst thrashing in the history of Mexico's official fixtures.
