Urban Meyer: QB recruit Haskins Jr. the 'best I've seen at that age'
Every coach appears to be the most satisfied man in the country when discussing his program's recruiting class, but Ohio State's Urban Meyer took that to another level when gushing about new Buckeye quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr.
"He's the best that I've seen at his age since I've been coaching," Meyer told Bruce Feldman and Stewart Mandel of FOX Sports. "At first I thought he would be a redshirt candidate, but now I think he's in the mix for at least the backup spot."
It's high praise from a man who has landed recruits such as Alex Smith and Tim Tebow. With star quarterback J.T. Barrett returning, it will be interesting to see if Meyer uses Haskins in certain packages to help the Buckeyes' offense.
The Maryland native flipped from the Terrapins to Ohio State a few weeks ago.
