Michigan State suspends Delton Williams following arrest

Michigan State running back Delton Williams may have jeopardized his shot at the starting role next season.

The sophomore was suspended indefinitely from team-related activities following a report of him being being taken into custody by police Tuesday, according to Joe Rexrode of the Detroit Free Press.

He reportedly remains in custody at Ingham County Jail in Mason, Mich., where he was said to have been brought in at 11:50 p.m. ET Monday for allegedly brandishing a firearm.

Williams ran for 316 yards with five touchdowns in 2014. He was expected to contend for the starting job vacated by Jeremy Langford.
