Conference USA announced its major award winners Wednesday, with Marshall leading the way with four recipients. 

Thundering Herd head coach Doc Holliday was named Coach of the Year after orchestrating a stellar 12-1 record en route to the Herd's first conference championship. This is Marshall's second consecutive 10-win season.

Western Kentucky quarterback Brandon Doughty was selected as the conference Player of the Year after throwing for 4,344 passing yards, 44 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Here is the list of 2014 C-USA award winners:

Coach of the Year:  Doc Holliday, Marshall
Player of the Year: Brandon Doughty, Western Kentucky
Freshman of the Year: Ray Lawry, Old Dominion
Offensive Player of the Year: Rakeem Cato, Marshall
Defensive Player of the Year: Neville Hewitt, Marshall
Special Teams Player of the Year: J.J. Nelson, UAB
Newcomer of the Year: Cody Sokol, Louisiana Tech
