As the ole adage goes, a mother knows best.

So when Jacques Patrick verbally committed to Florida State, it had a lot to do with how his mother perceived the way Jimbo Fisher went about the Jameis Winston fiasco.

Patrick, one of the nation's top running backs, said although the program suits his needs, his mother was swayed by other factors, according to Yahoo Sports's Nick Bromberg.

"My mom was the one that really reacted to it," he said. "She knows I’m going to be in good hands when I get up there and that’s the most important thing."
